1. The defense committee conducted a secret ballot to vote on whether to approve the thesis defense and recommend the awarding of a master's degree. 2/3 (including 2/3) of all members' approval was considered as passing.

2. For those whose applications were not approved, if a majority (including half) of the committee members agreed, a resolution could be made allowing them to revise their thesis and reapply for the defense within one year.
